Wadi Safafir: Slag Spread and Curved Wall
From a distance, it appears as a farm with some dark stones at the base of the mountain slope behind the buildings. However, this is one of the most fascinating sites in Wadi Safafir.
The site includes:
- a curved wall made of stone and slag
- a large spread of slag
- at least two houses (bait khaimah)
- constructions of unknown purpose
The site is several kilometers upstream from the mine shaft. There is no evidence of any furnaces nor any grinding stones or roasting pits.
The site has some simlarities to a site in Wadi Jizzi.
