In September 2002, the Al Ain Committee conducted a review of the duties of Committee members. Prior to this review, the duties of each Committee position were defined as set out under each position below:

• Chairperson
• Vice Chairperson
• Field Trip Coordinator
• Librarian
• Membership Secretary
• Newsletter Editor
• Publicity Officer
• Recordings Officer
• Secretary
• Treasurer

The duties, as defined, were those in place for several years; no date is given on the documents to indicate when these descriptions were define. We suspect they had been in place for more than 20 years..
