Interest Groups

(At one time the Al Ain chapter of the ENHG organized "Special Interest Groups" in an effort to facilitate more involvement by members in activities that were of particular interest to them. The initiative was dropped after two seasons.)

Several years ago, the Al Ain chapter established Interest Groups to encourage individuals with similar interests to organize events especially designed with that interest in mind. While an interest group does not exclude anyone from joining, the expectation is that individuals who share an interest can enjoy that area of natural history in the company of others with a similar enthusiasm.

Each weekend field trip should include a few minutes for individuals of each area of interest to discuss what has been observed so that the inter-relations of plants, insects, mammals and culture can be observed and discussed.

The Committee is interested in fostering the development of any interest group of interest to members. This could include, for example, shell collecting or scuba diving.
